Let’s talk about something I hear about and when I do my heads just bows down in slow motion and shakes left to right.

#Retail Culture.

Sigh.

We tend to throw around this word Culture like candy and pound our chests that the Culture that you supposedly have in place has a heart beat.

Well you know what what?

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฝ Your Team.

The โค๏ธ HeartBeat is dying as your present “Culture Club” is stale and you are not in touch with #1 resource of income.

So.

When is the last time ๐Ÿ‘‰ you took a step back to observe that mystical word Culture and when is the last time you took some time out of your artificially inflated schedule to look at it from afar?

Here are some quick points that hopefully will shock that pulse back into place.

๐Ÿค” What is it?

It is whatever you want it to be but it needs to be sustained;
and NOT based around pizza parties to which no one really cares about. That’s a cheap ass cop out.

๐Ÿค” How is it defined?

It is defined by your Employees, Partners, Associates or whatever is the politically proper version is to call them.

It is as simple as asking them what their thoughts are.

It is as simple as walking your floor and just listening to the chatter.

As a reminder, what you define #Culture as is more often than not, is way out of reach as to what they think a Culture is.

๐Ÿ‘‰ How do you build a Culture?

There is no correct answer to this as it can be whatever you want it to be. But the bricks to building that foundation;
โญ Start with a Hello.
โญ End with a Goodbye.
โญ Show interest in your Team by asking the most simple questions.
     ๐Ÿ˜ How is school going?
     ๐Ÿ˜ Are those new sneakers?

๐Ÿ”ฅ What needs to be done about it.

It takes time to build the foundation. Once you start putting those bricks in place don’t stop observing, questioning and MOST IMPORTANT, sustaining what is being built.

This is should be the most simple of things to do.

It really should not cost much; as compliments are free.

This will be YOUR legacy.
