Over 50 years ago Pink Floyd released one of the most significant music albums EVER dealing with Mentalhealth and its co-founder Syd Barrett:
๐๐๐ The Dark Side of the Moon ๐๐๐
Take some time and listen to it today as you never know if tomorrow will come.
Also please listen to “Shine on you Crazy Diamond” from The Wish You Were Here Album to which is a beautiful masterpiece and homage to Syd.
These recommendations are a must listen to if:
1.You are a music lover.
2.You or someone is experiencing any form of Mental Wellness opportunities.
๐๐ผ๐๐ฝ๐๐พ One of the central themes of The Dark Side of the Moon is the idea of Mental Illness and the way it can impact an individual’s life.
The song “Brain Damage” addresses the struggles of a person struggling with Mental Illness, including the feeling of being disconnected from reality and the fear of losing one’s sanity.
The lyrics, “The lunatic is on the grass/ The lunatic is on the grass/ Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs/ Got to keep the loonies on the path,” illustrate the feeling of being trapped in a cycle of Mental Illness and the importance of seeking help and support.
โจI am not frightened of dying
Any time will do, I don’t mind
Why should I be frightened of dying?
There’s no reason for it, you’ve gotta go sometime
I never said I was frightened of dyingโจ
