Are you the #Retail Captain to my ship?
One of the most common questions I get asked is, how do I #manage a group of #Managers with all different personalities and skill levels.
It’s not as hard as you might think as I see myself as a Captain steering the ship with everyone one my #Team knowing their roles and their responsibilities.
Hey, if you don’t like the term Captain, you can be a:
👉… or just not have a title at all.
It all really comes down to knowing your Teams strengths and opportunities and using them in the right way.
If you can do that then all you really need to do is be at the helm and steer your Team by:
👉 Giving them clear directions.
👉 Letting them know if there are any headwins that you maybe up against and need to come together to get through them.
👉 Being transparent and open for feedback.
👉👉 NOT interfering with what they are doing as they probably know more about the subject at than you do.
👉👉👉… and most of all willing to listen as your Team maybe seeing something that you are not seeing out there in the open.
Now that seems simple.
Then why are there so many ego based Managers out there that won’t let this happen because they have to have their say on every last thing.
