Lessons in Retail | Stress, just stop it.

Stress – A four letter word that we all have experienced and all have pointed our finger outwards to the supposed perceived cause of it. Did you know that the majority our stress developped from our perception of the reality of the situation?

Anyone in Retail can tell you that they have experienced stress levels that they thought would bury them Guess what, you and everyone else are still around and the subject you were stressed about evaporated into thin air.Magic? No.Did the stressor just dissappear? No. It was just replaced by something else. This needs to Stop.

When a stressor starts to fill your head, follow these steps:

Step 1: Stop what you are doing and identify the source of the stressor and write it down for a later review.

Step 2: Take a deep breath.

Step 3: Think of your favorite, most loved, funniest moment and relive it in your head or however you choose.

Step 4: Take a walk outside with the memory fresh in your mind and smile or laugh about it because it brought you pleasure.

Step 5: Repeat. This only works once it becomes a habit and will only work once you start to identify that a stressor is sneaking up on on you.

Stressor – Breathe – Deflect thought – Remember a moment in time – Take a walk – Repeat.
